I have the HU 803 in my T5. It sounds fantastic, except I have noticed that there is a slight 'buzz' in one of the front passenger door speakers which only occurs when someone is speaking (eg DJ on Radio). The sound quality with music on CD or Radio is fantastic. Any thoughts on this please?

possible coil damage to the speaker, may have overheated at some point.

reccomend a replacement of both front speakers at least.

May suggest all of the door speakers get replaced if you can be fussed.

The how to section has good deets on removing the door cards.

Thanks - any idea on how much the speakers themselves cost?

Depends if you want a new aftermarket, or new volvo ones.

Volvo will be cheapish, but not as responsive as aftermarket.

5" speakers are the type you need (fleabay or car audio websites) also described as 13cm speakers.

aftermarket will involve cutting wires, best to solder them in (spade connectors can fail, shake loose) also they can handle more power than standard (usually 30w vs. 50-100w) If you are using an aftermarket head unit, check for ground looping. (buzz that hangs in the background, it can pitch with speed of the car, up & down)

Hope this is none too confusing.

Remember, you always get what you pay for.......

Vibe stuff is good for full range, try these if you're on a budget.
