Heres a question for you.

When the light comes ON on the dash, is it a "latched" light that needs to be reset before it will go out, or will it go out when the fault/condition nolonger exists (as in the fuel light on when tank low, then goes out when you put more fuel in!)

Reason for this is that I disconnected the MAF plug with the engine running, which brought on the light, but when I reconnected the plug, the light remained ON

Although the system does self check I think you'll need that putting out by someone, I've done the same thing myself in the past, it's a definate 'Doh!' moment!!.

It may reset if you disconnect the battery overnight, but this is far from guaranteed,as tomcat says you will most likely need to have it reset. We do have the equipment for this if you are not too far away.We charge £25 for scanning and provided there are no permanent faults in the system we would be able to reset it no problem.Pm me for the phone no. if interested.
Regards,Adam.

Thanks fellas for the info. Reason i took the plug off the MAF was because the engine felt as though it wasn't running smoothly, so i took it off to see if it made any difference. No difference. Engine cut out when I reconnected it.

To add more insult to injury, when home I took out the MAF sensor to see if it was dirty, and when i touched the sensor, some of it broke. Definately a "Doh" moment.......
