Calling any V70 R owners or those in the know. I would really like your help.

I'm due for a 5 year service and she has 50,000 miles on the clock. I've called local dealers and specialist and have been quoted from £270 to £550 for a service. I've been told conflicting things e.g. plugs need change etc etc.

Does anyone know if plugs should be changed at 5 years with my mileage or not ? ( last changed in 06 at 36k )

Failing that would anyone like to confirm what they are paying for which services on their R's

Thanks

I have a 5 yr old V70R & it had its 60k / 5 yr service done last month @ about 57k miles, its only a oil & filter service, microfilter also . Main dealer wanted £350, i took it to an indy & paid £145, i supplied my own oil. If you look on your previous main dealer check sheets it will show what needs changing at what service, 6yr 72k is spark plugs. Service intervals are every 12k or 12 months which ever comes 1st.

As i thought (not just saying that). The only reason I was thinking of main dealer rather than a specialist this time, was the last time I visited them for a headlight lens I also had to have the nylon steering lock stops replaced due to wear.

I was told this should form part of the annual services (just greasing them) but it didnt appear they'd be done for some time. Was just wondering if the extra cash would get her the treatment she needs.

Thanks for your help.

Check with main dealer cost based on older Volvo and "Essential Service " rates.
Recently used Kings at Southampton, very impressed. Use search for details.

The end stops for the steering are worn down on my V70R, i just unbolted them & swapped them side to side which will now give me some more wear out of them & has stopped the rubbing on full lock, took about 20 mins including jacking the car up,leave the wheels on.
