I know that there's a lot of talk about getting the S60 or XC70 grills to fit, but in both cases I believe that they don't.

Aside from Heico's product, I suppose that you are forced into the aftermarket. I saw this on ebay today from 'DubStop' in the US. Has anyone had any experience of these?

My concern is that the black paint will chip off and look terrible after a few months.

I got one from them well over 6 months ago* and it still looks good imo. They're quite awkward to fit, but any grill would be.

You may want to think about getting some detail put onto the grill after fitting, as some people have asked me "have you had your grill pinched?"

But, I wouldn't have an issue buying this product again, and if all else fails you can always go back to the original.

* in fact it's almost a year thinking about it.

Is there any way to re-mount the Volvo badge and 'slash' ?

Yes, with a little modification. I've seen it done but haven't done it myself.

I'm gonna stick a T5 badge I have in the bottom right-hand corner once I get my hands on a glue gun and some time. Just to break up all the black.

Any pics of yours? (Your V70, not your piles!!)

Looks good. I feel a PayPal expenditure coming on...

Wifey didn't clock the new 18" Nebulas (she's used to 18" now:o *) so I doubt she'll clock a new grill.

So. Who's going to be first to butcher nearly three hundred quids worth of grilles to fit the mesh of the 60 into the shell of the 70?

Got any spare? I haven't got the dosh.

Did mine last week, look on partsforvolvoonline, £49.99 & £8 for the post

They also do Chrome of the same design at the same price!

Oh, the slash was from the original grille, the middle two pins (the ones behind the badge) fit tightly to the grill mesh! you could easily re attach the washers afterwards.

Is that a glossy black grille ? Can't quite tell....

it is black gloss, but the surround is more on the matt side. the slash byw needs shortening by about an inch.

Thanks for perservering, but I think this grill is doomed to be photographed in a permanent dark, wet, fog!

poorly focused tho! Sorry chaps, I have also shown my bad work on shortening the slash.

Close enough tho.

V40 slash fitted mine just fine- also used araldite to glue it on.

No such nonsense for me, the pins that hold the slash actually pinch the mesh & hold to the grill without glue or any bolts!

The two pins behind the "badge" are the ones you keep, the other two at the ends of the slash just get in the way.

I have considered getting something to hold it on more permanantly, but I'll probably change my mind shortly & make summit new!

I do have that sweed flag badge..... aluminium sheet, chrome paint..... blue & yellow paint...

Hmmm, one to think on! I'll see how bothered I can be at the weekend to do some Make & Design work...
