Auto box makes it really annoying, as i get stuck in awkward places.
Every now and then, it just cuts out and can be started again after a couple of minutes. Usually once it's been re started it's fine from then on. It used to only do it when it was hot, but the other morning on the way to work it stopped after about 5 mile from home. Just getting annoying.

Only things i can think of are either and coil/coil lead breaking down or the fuel pump.
No ECU faults.

Does sound like a classic dodgy fuel pump relay. Fairly sure if it was a gearbox fault you'd get the flashing arrow on the dash.

Not had any faults other than my ABS problems.
Is the relay in the panel next to the main underbonnet fuse box,or inside somewhere?

I think in right in saying that the relay is sat on top of the radiator, lurking behind a black plastic cover along with a couple of other relays. They DO have a habit of failing.
