Well Now the car is fixed im as happy as a pig in S**t.

On my drive to work today on a private road of course since i own many acres :) I stuck the foot down and kept it planted.

I was impressed when the car hit 155 with ease but verged on hardon material when it went off the clock :)

I think its time for the satnav to verify what the hell speed it actually is.

Not bad on std tune so might just got for 255hp stage 2 now :)

Blimey, that's quick! What bhp is yours?

Only thing that has been done is a jetex cat back, pipercross induction and a forge dump valve.

Ive always felt my T4 was way too quick but its std boost as verified on the boost gauge and will still be the 200hp.

I even asked the volvo dealer to check it hadnt been fettled with in the ecu but it doesnt show any alterations to the map.

Although Volvo stated 200bhp a lot were closer to 215bhp. :) They are very quick little cars, certainly my V40 T4 hoofs along, I can attest to this following Kent Canary (it's his now) back from Cardiff the other day, blimey that car picks up.

Yup its what made me choose the t4 over the s40 T5.

The other problem i have is keeping grip in the dry. Although I suspect the Toyo PX4 tyres are crap.

I think its time to get the quaffe diff fitted with the stage 2 tune for some Euro touring fun.

Even with the stuttering problem it still harrased ( well was passing until it stuttered )my mates s2000 along the motorway.

You never got the stuttering cured then?

Yeah its fixed.

Turned out to be a coil pack failure on cyl 3.

Car runs like a champ now hence the post about how fast it bloody went.

good o, glad you got it sorted, 155 on the speedo would have been 148/149 mph I reckon.

When I did the standing 1.2 mile at Elvington in Jacqs T4 (was before the big spec, just exhaust, de-cat, remap) it did 0-149.8mph in the 1.2 mile run, the speedo was still climbing and had passed 155 just before I got to the speed trap so I gues probably indicating 157ish, which as I said was 149.8 on a calibrated speed trap.

Fantastic news mate, you must be pleased! It had dogged your car for a while. Obviously it's much better now. ;)

So what speed is it likely to be when it passes 160mph? Sat nav at the weekend :)

eh, who's to say, speedo's are hugely inaacurate at high speed.

why bother mate? OOOh I've done 160, well done, you've risked your life and others to prove that after 10 miles down the motorway you can nudge 160, that doest show a fast car, it shows a long geared car with mildly respectable power.

Now if you can do 160 from 0 in 1 mile....I'll be mildly interested, cause that might be considered "quick"

Seriously no offence meant but ragging a car to its balls out to pspeed at 160 indicated on public roads just so you can come on a forum and say you did it....grow up.

My skyline does just over 85 mph ( on a calibrated speed trap not a random dash speedo) in 8.1 secs and I consider it, fast(ish) compared to my previous car, which recorded 154.0 mph in 1.2 miles (on the 152mph stopper on the speedo for about 200 metres before I hit the trap with the revs still shooting up repaidly)

Long and short, an indicated 160 on multiple mile motorway run isn't anything special so stop risking your licence/life doing it.
