can anyone help i can't seem to get my keyfob to program and work, i bought another from the fleaybay thinking the one i had was broken, when i turn the ignition off and on a few times the red light on the dash flashes, but pressing the button on the remote does nothing, so i thought i'd check the relays, but i can't find them, according to the book it should be near the airbox, but there's nothing other tan the airbox and abs pump, can someone point out where i should be looking please?

similar engine bay here, its a '97 855

there are two different possible key fobs, sounds like you have the wrong one to me mate.

by the way they look identical.

one is part number 9442981 and the other is 9442983.

alarm control relay is under the dash mate, but my bet is the ebay one was wrong.

The relay is under the dash as Rufe correctly states, it can be seen below with the BT style cable (glass sensor) coming out of it....

Has you origional fob ever worked...Does it "cheep" when the large button is pressed...
Have a look at this article which explains the different alarm systems used on the 850 series....
