Am i right in thinking that V70 5 stud alloys will go on my 855 ?

I don't see why not, just check the tyres to make sure they aren't too wide.

Honestly mate they are the most undesirable Volvo alloy ever IMHO. Most ex-plod stuff comes with them and they are worth nuffink. I got a set for £80 I think. I use them for one week a year with winter tyres on them for skiing trips.

They should look ok on the 850,they are 16" off a low spec C70.The metis are not pretty,we have plenty of them,they would need a different tyre though as they normally have 215/55x16 fitted and you will need 205/50x16 for the 850.A cheap option may be to fit a set of alloys from a '94-98 960,there were some decent designs and they fit straight on,standard tyre size on the 960 was 205/55x16 which was also the size used on the 850 awd so you would be fine just bolting these on as they are if you find some you like.
