Guys,
any idea how much a cambelt change would cost on a V70R?

Independent rates please!

Just thought some of you must have had it done, and just after a ballpark figure really.

Also, rough estimates as to independent servicing costs would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Dan

The 80k service (all belts, tensioners etc) was done by a main dealer before I got the car. The cost as £560 included a set of pads.

Spesh - where the hell do you live to get that lot for 100 nicker? Can I come live with you? (separate rooms obviously) :insane:

If it's in the Midlands (or way down South) let know.

Thankyou one and all for your replies - very encouraging indeed, I just assumed servicing/bits and bobs on these wouldn't be particuarly reasonable.

Glad I was wrong :troutslap

Cheers

On the servicing angle - does anyone know of a good independent in the bedford area, or near Luton?

I'm a little surprised, unless I am blind, that there is no 'recommended garages' thread/area on here - would that not be a good idea?

I know people get twitchy about threads where garages get slagged off, but could there not just be one, purely about recommending them instead?

Good idea, I have never been fortunate enough to only pay £100 for a service, even with an independent specialist - usually around £200+ (even then, I'm sure they spent 2 hours greasing door hinges and changing the oil and filters!!!).

This said, I am contemplating servicing the car myself (stage 0 tune-up), but would still like a garage to 'check' the car over afterwards (brakes etc, aswell as resetiing the service light).

A 'recommendation' thread would be a real help as I am sick of being ripped off purely because I own a decent car!

The only garage I can recommend is Southgate Garage in Wincaton - good, friendly and honest, but
1/. not sure how well they know volvos
2/. its a long walk from bournemouth!
