Since the question sometimes comes up on here "what can I expect from a T4 in terms of mpg?" - here's a datapoint.

900 miles in the T4 at "French motorway" speeds - gave me 34.3 mpg on supermarket 98. I'm quite happy with that.

Best I ever saw from an 850 T5 was a lot lower than that, and even my Phase 1 V70 would struggle to maintain 33.

Nice to revive old posts.... I'd be quite interested to know what people are getting out of their T4's... I hit 38MPG on the day I bought mine on the way back from Brum... however since then it has dropped down to 33mpg. I still think that is pretty good.

Never seen mine above 30 yet.

Seems pretty static at around 28, though I used the car for work for a week which was mainly motorway and saw 29.3mpg so was going in the right direction

I wouldn't be complaining at 28 mpg lol!!!

Mine definately isnt economical. I dont even bother turning the fuel computer on to see what money Im throwing away on petrol, but hey, its a 1.9 turbo kicking out at least 240hp so its never going to win any awards for its mpg or green credentials.

At least the T4 is better than my Saab 9000, Nissan QX and my Sierra XR4x4 ...In the Sierra I was lucky to get 19mpg!

I have just got 35.8mpg average out of my 03 T4, granted a lot of those miles were sat on the motorway at 80 on cruise control but still quite happy with that!

errrr I average mid 20's on every day driving.

Motorways I do get mid 30's. Best I had though was in Austria last year. filled up with 101Octane super Shell and managed 45mpg :)

I ahve always found though that I do get superb mpg in Europe. This is because all their fuels has half of the amount of additives that this government impose on our fuel... Can only really assume, it is because if we started to do more MPG then we would use less and that means less monies for their perks...

My new everyday average was 24.6mpg, but I only have a 2mile drive to work.

I've just had two weeks off where I've been to North Wales and back then down to Sonisphere at Knebworth, so I'm now up to 29, but that is without resetting the gauge, so I do think it could be better.
