Does anyone know if you can replace the seals on their own? As i ahve a leak on the nearside seal on my rack, it's not weeping but leaking whilst standing now,

Hi Rufe 15 looks like the seal, as 14 is the locking pin,

number 15 is actually a spacer ring (only fitted to turbo models, and not actually available on its own) and number 14 is an o-ring

here is a closer look

the o-ring number 14 is no longer available, as when i tried to get the price it says it has expired.

number 19 in the first diagram is a 'repair kit - dust cover and seals', and is available

REPAIR KIT:
P/n: 271558
Volvo Price: £21.63 inc vat
Our Price: £15.78 inc vat, plus postage
Postage: £1.67 Royal Mail 2nd Class Recorded Delivery

How this compares to pfv's price i have no idea, but i assume its a similar if not the same part.

Note - this repair kit is for racks made by TRW only. the way to findthis out is to take a look at the chassis plate under the bonnet, look at the last code on the right hand side, it will be 8 digits long, and the last digit will be a 4 or a 5. if its a 4 then the rack was made by TRW.

Hi Rufe Thought i was onto a winner there, lol, My last digit is a 5, so no worries and thanks for looking,
PFV list the repair kit as for 850 only and is £35,

There is a place near me that would refurb a rack for £100odd (a couple of years ago) but you would need to get it there etc.

I just bought one from Salvo instead.
