:wtf: Yep I am considering this as a mod in the future, Call me crazy but I will one day have my Volvo at 500bhp doing a 9.9 1/4 mile! ha ha oh yes one day.........

So anyways, anyone looked into anti lag for the T5? my mate has it on his Escort Cossie and the thing sounds mental and is bloody quick. Would Volvo Tuning be up to such a task?

Bison i looked into it,Not only will you be spitting out flames and popping loud on the streets,Which will be illegal i presume,
The biggest drawback was the temps the turbo and exhaust manifolds run at,
They won't last at all on standard parts,Probably looking at a titanium manifold or something stupid like that,Plus another thing,It will have to electronically plumbed into your ecu,and the kits aren't cheap.

Thats all i know on it,The guy i raced at Avon Park in the Toyota Celica rally car? had the anti lag on it,Unless you didn't hear it lol, :riceboy:

basicly the way i understand anti lag is when you lift of the throttle to change gear it dumps some fuel into the exhast manifold and the fuel ignights and keeps the turbo spinning at boost speed witch eliminates the lag thats a simple explination

Just fit a supercharger to it (I'm sure you could shoehorn one in somewhere?) :D

Fraz you are hilarious mate,
There is a way to get full boost at all times,As when i was younger we did it to a RS Turbo,It wasn't drivable on the highway though,
Can't remember how it was done,Only the boost pipe were swapped over.

My mate has it on his nova, which is a drag car, can't really see the need for it on a road car, unless you have some 325mm tyres on the front and launch control??????

Indeed! Lag on a road car is a good thing because it helps with traction. Otherwise you would spend most of the time spiining the wheels and would therefore have a slower car that costs even more to run!!!

Yeah maybe, but how else will I be able to spit flames and get mental bangs out the exhaust without putting a cheesy flamer kit on?

Bison how much damage do you want to cause to your car just to fit in with the saxo lot!

Make it over fuel a bit and as pedro says take the cat off should get a good few flames.

Tell you wat worked on my 440 turbo and it sounded the same as anti lag, one of the earth tracks on the ECU packed in, car wouldn'd go over 3500rpm, and banged and threw flames about 2ft, I was the talk of modified nationals last year!!!!!!!!!!! (car show) Everyone thought it had anti lag, only prob was 3500rpm is about 80mph, so that was the speed as i was stuck at all the way home, lol!!!

yeah i noticed mate, i was behind you, good view of some impressive flames every gear change though lmao! :D

the 'anti-lag' and flaming demonstration at 2 in the morning was funny, and you managed to pull in the whole campsite to admire the anti lag 440.... almost got you slung out of the campsite though! ahhh those were the days :D

lol, if you really want pops and flames, get a flamer kit, it is much less expensive than anti-lag, which really isnt a feasible plan for a road car.

and you'll need a lot more than 500 bhp to fo a 9.9 lol :p

Seriously though, flames are do-able with just an exhaust and a bit of richness, Jacq had her full custom system fitted tonight and within 10 miles it had broken its flame throwing cherry, ( as I saw from behind as I followed it) though it is running a tad rich as well till it gets it TME remap hopefully in the very near future.
