Firstly thanks for your support people, much appreciated. And of course your patience.

The overhaul has taken a good few days, as some have pointed out, simple and easy stuff to do, but when you have a business to run, families that need you, external families that need you and no sleep due to babies..........

So, here we are, basically from a reload of November 2006, not what i had hoped for but better than nowt! Now due to the fact that only 2 people have been looking over the new site I'm sure there will be some unintended functionality, ie broken image links or links that dont work properly, if you see any can you please post them here. However can we keep this thread to just issues found, one of you can start another to say how fed up you are that were back lol.

There will be more added as time goes by, I have some idea's and i know the mods team are keen to share some of thiers as we havent had much in terms of communication over the last week or so.

We have taken the opportunity to give the place a lick of paint too (fumes should be gone now) hope you like the new skin, if not you should be able to revert back in your user CP.

So, post away, i will be busy tomorrow morning authorising all new accounts, If you are not a member as you joined after Nov 2006 then you will need to re register. Its a simple process, any questions please PM myself or one of the mods team.

Welcome back!

Well we were anyway.........thats my bad guys, forgot to close the door when i left last night, and due to a possible security issue they pulled the site.

This may happen a few times over the next few days as security measures and changes are made to the existing site component :(

Just wondering, what was the purpose of deleting everything after 2006? Or was that not meant to happen?

Also, I tried reverting back to the old skin, but couldn;t find out how to. Any tips?

Cheers.

I dont think you can go back to the old skin, maybe its just me that is able to.

Lol, yeah we thought, i know, lets get rid of everything from 2006 onwards just for fun......It was a blunder by our so called hosting company :(

Thanks for explanation! What a relief. Had forgotten how much time I "played" on here!

This is occuring guys due to us updating scripts in the security of the site, everytime we do they are seeing edited scripts and pulling the site incase we are being hacked for security reasons, these suspended account and downtime issues will be over real soon as we remove old and update new on the server.

It p***es me off more than it does you lot believe me :(

You deserve a knighthood Justin....bloody well done!

here, here, i agree

for many (myself included) forums are the backbone of our support network for working on these cars - there are many things i have done on different motors over the years that i just wouldnt have attempted without being able to chat with other enthusiasts on forums like this.

With the volvoforums.org.uk site down, if Justin hadn't climbed into his computer chair and sorted this out, we would all be very much worse off.

Hats off to you Justin - thank you.

Sadly no, all after 2006 has been lost so we're all starting from scratch. I had a post count of over 5000, I'm now down to half that, still better this than no forum at all eh?.

Welcome back by the way.

Just to keep you all upto speed, the following new apps have been added to the site, the Arcade (accessed through the navigation bar at the top of the page) and almost done Lytebox which displays any images added from now on in a viewer. Its just a bit more classy than explorer.

Flashchat is now installed too, this is found by clicking "quicklinks" at the top right of the page and selecting Flashchat. For those that don't know its a chatroom for members only.

There will be more coming soon as we develop the site and our idea's further. Suggestions are welcome :)
