hello, might remember me from last week, had aproblem with a dashboard light, that was sorted,
but on friday,i parked the car up,as usual, came back out the shop, put it in reverse, and it went forward?

what the hell is going on?

the car just about drove home limping(apparently this is what volvos do)
and then the whole auto box packed up,no gear works!

what can i do,has anybody ever had an auto box fitted, how much was it?

if you can help me i would be really grateful,i need this sorting asap i have no car!!!!!!!!!!

My auto box went south last week. I flush changed the ATF and she crawls around. It is an expensive repair and I don't expect much change from over a grand. I am currently looking for a local specialist. You are lucky because you live in Nottingham - you can go to Pendyme? (Ian is a Volvo god) - so it may be cheaper - Talk to Justin

I feel for you because it comes within a week of my own fault.

Methinks Bracer and his M56 are looking far too smug about this. Still waiting for the return. Sounds to me as the clutch packs have gone. I have seen mine close up - it is messy - just pray that the casing is ok.

No Dave mate you have my deepest sympathy I'm in no way smug, promise, remember how impressed I was after going in yours  well there you go.

What would be interesting is to see how the 2 compare now without the Auto boy "Power Braking" ? Or do you feel that you will still be able to do it now the box has been re-conned ? And that its was just a mix of age mileage and extra load which cooked it to the core :hidesbehi
