Ello all,
couple of volvo T5 owners came on the escort forum i'm a member of and it got me thinking bout a T5 850, wouldnt mind if i could get some info on these cars. theres always been something about them i like and everyone other than my dad has taken the pee and called me an old man (i'm only 21) but just wondering what they are actually like, petrol drinkers or not bad? repairs on them?
cheers guys and gals

See my post in 850 series forum, I'm driving one with over 250,000 miles on it, don't know if you are into longevity but these cars go forever!

welcome to the forum
repairs can be expensive if you don't know of a decent independant & use Volvo (but someone on here will normally point you in the direction of a cheap fix). I only use mine around town & with the mods does tend to like her fuel abit. & as for your mates taking the mick, can any of them match 0-60 in 7 seconds & then carry on to 150mph as standard (go on get one, you know you want to)

The B5234FT engine - the "T5" is virtually bomb proof. I know loads of younguns driving the T5. We went as a club to the RS owners club meet at donny park. We beat quite a few you whipper-snappers in their cossies on the way out (traffic lights - it happens). Best to pay a bit more for a better kept one - about 2.5K than £1800 for a shed. Things can go wrong and parts from Volvo are not as cheap as some - but there are lots of second hand bits for the major parts.
Very reliable and very tunable too.

There are many members on here and other Volvo forums below 25 so they really aren't the average Volvo and appeal to a lot of younger people (myself included) who want power but dont want to conform!!!
Once tuned the T5 is virtually unbeatable!!! Scoobies, TT's M3's wont get a look in! Plus you get all the gadgets and comfort of a luxury cruiser!!!
They really are a superb car!

cheers for the warm welcome guys. i didnt realise the T5 did the 0-60 in 7seconds. i knew they were good at the top end but at the pull off i thought they were slow cos they were heavy.
oh can i put up a signature of mine to go under the writing or is it not allowed on here?

Yes the weigh quite a bit Mine does 0 - 60 in 5.9 secs. C70's are the "lightest"
Fastest 1/4 is 14.6 secs at Santa Pod.
