Transfer box

Hello All

Just dropped the 98 V70 R AWD to the repair shop.

Prior :

Had some vibrations at speed at first ,then some clonks front left , then

when i selected reverse (Auto) `I got my gear , plus "CRANG" noise from the box.

The car got me home with serious vibrations .

Tyres are new , plus transfer box is only 5yrs old and looked after.

Had some front wheel spin a whille back , a warning maybe !

Hi mate, doesnt sound too good! Have you changed the autobox oil recently? Hope its nothing too major!

Thankfully

Not the transfer box , but a front drive shaft had problems.

The shop told me on the phone it needed a new gearbox or over haul.

They took the rear propshaft of and told me the cv coupling bush needed replacing also.

Parts are orderd , and bill is currently at £197.00 thats just labour !

What do you think of that ?

£197.00 to tell me I need a new gearbox untill I said about the drive shaft.

I have My R back and it feels good.
Upset about the labour costs, but it work fine now !

Good Job from that shop I must add.
