S-reg Phase 1 V40 2.0T running very cold - any ideas why?

It does get up to temp (90 deg plus) eventually but it takes AGES - like about half an hour. No dash warning lights showing.

When it gets to temp it is stable and turns the cooling fan on and off quite happily.

Answers on a postcard...? :)

Almost certainly the thermostat, this has stuck open, meaning the coolant is circulating around the radiator while it is warming up.
Under normal operation the thermostat only opens when coolant in the block has warmed up to full operating temperature.
This will cause premature engine wear and needs renewing really.

Anyone know if the thermostat on a '40 is as easy to change as on an 850? :)
