Howdo,

anybody fancy imparting some wisdom?

I'm fed up of looking at my nice new gaitor and wondered if anybody could give me a headsup on how to change 'em?

I have pulled it up but cant find anything which indicates how to get the top off etc

Any help appreciated - thanks!

Knob needs to come off first mate and that could be a problem as without the volvo tool you may have to break it to do so.

Try giving your knob a good tug(lol)it might just come off in your hand(this is impossible without sounding dodgy)and then the gaitor will just slip off and you are in business

The knob sits on what looks like two collapsalble rings. You'll have to pull it off with all your stength...I ended up ripping mine to pieces, so be prepared for a new knob as well...

I replaced the standard Knob a few weeks ago - just take a Jr Hacksaw to it. Took me a whole 3 minutes to remove it ;)

Afraid pie boy is right,The knob is held on by a ring of plastic teeth a thin piece of metal rolled around the gearstick and then pushed up inside the knob may have the desired effect.Thats what i was gonna do but mine came off in my hand with a little tug!!

Exactly.Seriously though i think its got to be worth a try,Thinking about it a small length of copper pipe cut down the length could be ideal and worth a quid or so for a try before shelling out at the dealers
