losing bost? this could be your answer

only recently turned up on the t5 scene so shoot me if you've all seen this before, but THIS LINK (http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?showtopic=30669) shows what to do if you're boosting to, say 15psi then only holding 10psi to the redline.
looks like something i need to try but having had a look at the car, the heat shield looks like a right bitch to get off. is it? any useful tips? done a load of searches on different forums but not really getting anything.

Hi mate i have had the same problem and the link your on about does the job but be very carefully with the hammer..
The heat shield is a bit of a problem but you should be fine with some patiance....

boost fade is either:

1. leaks in the intercooler plumbing
2. tired turbo
3. inefficent turbo
4. bad boost control

why not leaks in or in relation to the wastegate?....as suggested by this post...seems logical to me
