Daft question

Sorry to ask but my 850's idling at 1000-1100rpm, whats the common reasons? airleak etc? Im sure this subjct has been flogged to death but id rather nip it in the bud than suffer a sick volvo again.

could be airleak,or idle control valve...there is a way to test the valve,i think adam from vt said if you can hold the revs at 2000 nice and steady without it trying to rise then the valve is fine,if not then its not working right,could try cleaning it out with carb cleaner.

first check = no smoke from the oil dipstick. I've also changer the vacuum pipes from the ICV. Suppose it could be 1 of the silicon turbo pipes eh?
