Is there any sort of cold start device on the 850's ? I've noticed the last few mornings when i've started the car its been a bit lumpy when it's ticking over and it will run lumpy at low revs until the engine is warm but the problem won't clear until you give it a good rev. It doesn't happen all the time and is usually only when the engine is cold, it's not a problem for me but the wife borrowed the car the other day and she didn't give it a rev to stop the rough idle and it ended up staling in the middle of the road:wtf: , after a paniced phone call i told her what to do and it was fine. Easiest thing to do is not let her drive it but that don't solve the problem, any ideas anyone ?

Maybe it due a good service? the one where they put an aditive in the oil and run it for 10 mins before draining it it's supposed to get rid of oil blokages in the breather system.

But to answer your question, Yes. Its called an engine block heater as in adrians thread for Volvo accesories. But me thinks its for serious Sweeden winters and not our mildly cold autumns.

my green 1 had the same problem mate, turned out it was the infamous MAF sensor. Ur welcome to nip round to mine tuesday nite & try mine out on yours, at least thats a 'yes or no'.

Cheers Niles, i might hold you to that but at a later date as it's a bit late now and i've had a couple of beers :beer: Same thing happened to it today but it was the worse its been when i've been driving it, from cold it was hesitant and had the odd misfire here and there, as soon as it got to running temp i put my foot right down and it was off like a rocket and all was fine, had a check under the bonnet to see if there were any split air hoses an couldn't see anything, i thought it could be plugs but they werre only changed a couple of months ago, it just feels like that sort of problem.
