Hi Guys

Well I have had my V70 R ('53 plate) since July now (I will post up some pics) and so far it's been recovered on a flatbed twice and had god knows how much stuff replaced on it!

The list is:

New N/S rear hub assembly where handbrake gave way and destroyed the hub plus handbrake cables (flatbed recovery no 1)

New brake discs all round

New clutch and flywheel

New cooling fan

New fuel pump (flatbed recovery no 2 )

New battery

Now needs new front struts and mounts

Plus had various other bits like gear selector cables and other known issue bits

The car has now covered 41,000 miles and I have to say I am amazed at the amount of time off the road already. This would have been a £40K ish car 3 years ago. Not a great advert for Volvo I don't think...

But, on the other hand when it is working, Christ does it fly!

All I can say is I'm bloody glad of the warranty on it otherwise I'd be bankrupt by now!

Sometimes warranty work can be fun - get to play in a courteousy car for while, then you get your car back working :)

As long as the dealer is good and there is not too much hassle involved.

I'd extend your warranty to life cover, lol.

Chris

You have got one of the first builds of the V70 R's, as with any car on the first build expect stuff to need replacing, however as its a specialist car more things will need sorting.

Dont buy a car of its rarity and not expect stuff to need fixing, fortunately once the long list of common problems is sorted they go on and on without a hitch.
