Hi,

My v70r has started making a strange knocking sound when I turn corners at a slow speed, it also has a slight noise if I pull away quicklywhile the wheels are slightly turned. I took the car to a friends garage & we took it up on the ramps & had a good butchers at it underneath. From my description he thought it was the cv joints but after our inspection everything looks ok. When i bought the car I got a bush & control arm done, thinking it was that but it wasnt!!!!
The next thing was possibly the four wheel drive system, or some rear brakes rubbing??

Has anyone had or heard of this problem?

Cheers boys... :B_thumb:

Transfer box, would be my first thought. You do rotate the tyres?

Wheel bearing, wish bones and then top mount.

Dave,

the problem was a worn 'Centre Tailshaft Mount' which moves due to torque on the cv joint especially when turning..

Just thought I would let you know..

Thanks,

Mac.
