Hello every one and thanks for any help given to a new 850 T5 owner
I have just fitted a boost gauge and i just want to know how much the boost should be. At low the boost is -0.7 bar and at full boost it is +0.5 allso if this is right and i add a manual in car boost controller how high can i go....
thanks all:rice:

accuracy of gauges can be a little dubious expecially of the 25 quid variety. I should look to get a comparison with a more reliable source. The range of values you are getting are not unreasonable.

If I remember what adam said - .5 for a T5 .7 for a T-5R as standard. You should ideally not boost to over 1.2 unless you want broken things. 1.3 with 19T etc The lower the boost the safer your engine internals.

Hi,
I fitted a TIM 2 bar guage and after RICA 304 it shows -0.8 on tickover to 1.15-1.2 bar at full boost

I have fitted a subara boostgauge and as you can see in the vid. the max boost is ~1.35 bar:biggrin:

Are you sure? - Do you mean the S60R or the T5 S60 ???

I may be thinking the R. Either way I can't comment on what is "safe" for the S60. I'll wait for adam or someone similar to chip in.

I know I certainly wouldn't want to be running more than 1.3 on my V70 though... read too many posts on here about bent rods for that.

Depends at what revs your running the boost guys then 18.9 psi ain't that high lol :)

High boost is not such a problem. Even the early 850's can take 1.35 bar without a problem if the revs are high enough. High boost at low revs kills rods. As you can see on the video max boost is at high rpm so no trouble. The car has done 212k km and still going strong.

Kind of, but you do get a bloody big spike down low,the the ecu pulls it back,i would'nt do that to often in 4h if it was my car!
