Headed over to VT this morning to have a quick chat with Hamish and to help with the race car. Saw a lovely bright red V70 T5 (phase 2). Hamish said that it had been in that morning. Hope the lad is one of ours?

Thumbs up were exchanged on the A38 nr Bromsgrove, just after Jnc 2 M42. :rice:

Red - its the only way to go ;)

Red ones are faster. Einstein mentioned it in his theory of relativity - namely the "Red Shift"

and I don't think his theory has been truley proved has it ? So that would mean your incorrect about big red ;)

Wobbly Dave
Sunday 10th April 2005, 01:11
Yeah but if one is to get pedantic about these things a theory cannot be proved it can only be disproved - as is the nature of scientific hypotheses (sp?).

And look at this

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0005748.html

Gravitational red shift. Volvo is a fairly heavy car anyway.

Morning Dave

It was me that you very kindly let out of the junction on sat (thanks by the way :B_thumb: )

I was planning on putting a post up here this morning, but you beat me to it (no internet at home).

I'll hopefully see you at one of the future meets.

Cheers

Matt

I've got some photo's being developed at the mo, so i'll send the digi copies to you when i get em. (I've gotta get myself a digi camera)

I'll be back at VT next sat morning so that Hamish can finally fix the knocking suspension that's bugged me practically since i bought it. Can't wait till it's done.

I agree, red is the way forward! Once she's been cleaned up ( :bath: ) it does look good! :jaw:

I normally dont buy a car for its colour but I had the choice of a blue auto or a black manual and I went with black manual!
My first car was sh+tty brown more than 1 shade so colour really doesnt bother me price, performance and spec is much more important!

Ah spot on Dave. It'd be good to put a face to at least one of the names on here. I'll be there from 10 till whenever Hamish has finished with it (shouldn't be too long as it's only for a top engine mount and new anti-roll bar drop links).

Maybe see you then.

Did they change the paint slightly from P1 to P2 coz mine doesn't seem to fade off at all! I know what you mean though as my friends 850 looks almost shabby a week after being washed and polished!

Fade on red really only starts after 5 years and it depends where you leave it during the summer, how often you treat it and many other factors. Red is the worst for white fade.

Rich - you are a funny man!! LOL

Not so. If you do like I do and polish every 3 to 4 weeks with a good quality polish - you can get away with a wash/dry in between. If you use a maintainig car wash with added wax agents it helps to protect the car with minimal effort.

I admit I am a perfectionist which is why I clean her twice a week during the fine weather. It need not be so. You can maintain a healthy shine without the graft and ultimately it will stand you in good stead when you come to sell.

White is THE T5 colour. Certainly if you have an ex-police one like mine!

Why, oh why, indeed how, can birds make such a mess of a white car?

C70 has to be black, S60 R has to be black (or can get away with silver, just)

850's I do like in red and for some reason im not that keen on them in Black.
