V70 rear lamp on my 850

Is this a straight swap or do I need to modify ???? My old ones are getting more and more white, so new red ones from a V70 is preferable for me.

The reason im asking is, that I have been told that I need to modify the "bulb sockets" in order to make it fit to the lamps - in my opinion this sounds rather stupid as the only difference between these two lamps is their color.

To be honest I was always told that the bulb holders needed changing, to make things easy just ask for the bulb holders when you buy the lamps, they'll probably chuck em in for free, mine did.
