I was thinking middle of October, 8th, 15th or 22nd..... This gives a bit of time to organise time off, babysitters if you dont wanna bring them along

Other thing is Location..... Im open to suggestions.....

I'd love to come up and meet you guys 'n galls.

Any day with this amount of warning is fine by me.

The single day meet is better as I cant get away for more than a day though.

Re location...Somewhere north of me as there's not much around here!

Normally the meets are spread all over Scotland as we have members all over so we have done Loch Lomond, Perth, Falkirk, Inveraray and Oban/Glencoe....

kdst5 (Norm) makes it to EVERY meet which from Elgin is a huge effort and for his sake thats why its so far North this time ;) I would love to go further North to Inverness and beyond but thats going to have to wait till next year now....

We also need to do a more Southernly meet to try and get some more of the English members to join in on our madness lol

As for your 2.4, dont worry about it, Yeah ppl floor it but we usually stick together for the more sedate members like me lol

Carlisle to Fort Augustus without any stops is about four hours. Depends on how many stops etc. Dont think there is going to be a set timescale.

Fras, where are the meeting points going to be on the way up?

fraz13
Wednesday 27th September 2006, 20:46
Ok for the trip up the route will be....

If T-5ones and smithson007 wanna head up to Glasgow (Cumbernauld) then this is the plan ;)

From Glasgow, Myself, Mel, d14vd_h, bubba and Wobbly (if he comes up) will be following the A(M)80 to Cumbernauld to meet up with Jase and Dave then on a bit more till the M9 to Stirling.... Members from the East i.e Banana, Titch, Charlie and Transient can meet us at the Services....

On to the A9 at Dunblane and following it till Perth where we can meet Craigk and Jenna

Av left the Northern boys to kdst5, hopefully him, gillespie and DavieC will meet up in Aviemore then head off to meet up with the rest of us at Laggan

Times:

If we can be at Laggan for around 1pm that should be fab.....

Scott, The roads on the way up were dual carriageways with tonnes of speed cameras but i came home via Glencoe and Crianlarich. Much better!
During the day i also thought i had ripped the bottom of my car off along with my front bumper when we went on the wrong road, not so funny. I nearly started crying but all is well.(so far). I have to say though it was a good turn out and as usual the banter was briiiiiiiillaaaant( Charlie and the badger were ther, What more can i say)
It was good meeting some new faces and Simon did very well keeping up in his 75bhp van lol. A big thanks again to Fraz for getting it all together but im sure he will think twice about bringing the badger along after the ripping he got lol

Well guys thanx again for all turning up!!

Fantastic meet as usual :D

There was some confusion about what way to go at a junction, By the time I got in ma car and waited for Simon to turn his van round, we went round a corner and there was no one to be seen... We turned around and tried another wee single track, cattle grid ridden road and decided..... NOPE!!! Turned back and headed back to the original junction and went straight on (Jaseb77 left first, he went this way and it was signposted Fort William after all lol)

Anyhoo we just decided that there must be 2 route and we would meet up with them there......

About 30 mins later and about 20 miles down the road I got a call saying the rest of them were at the top of a mountain lost and they were turning back and coming the way we went!!!! :hilarious Cars were scraping the ground, and banging off the ground like bits were falling off.....

So as Simon had his 4year old with him we just decided just to keep going coz he was looking forward to seeing Nessie lol Caught up with Jase and Julie coz they stopped a couple of times... We got to Fort Augustus and met up with Tim and his other half (sorry cant remember her name) Went for a wee wander and found a pub to munch in.....

We ordered, ate had a laugh and about an hour later we decided to go and see the locks in working action... As we stood up and were walking to the door the rest of the troops turned up.... So they all went in and grabbed a bite to eat while we went a walk....

We all met up in the carpark for an hour or so at the end of the day while The Badger, Charlie, Titch and Simon tried to sort out Charlies 3 cylinder problem.... That was the best bit of the day for me, All together the way it should have been :P

At was disappointing in the sense that it ended up like 2 seperate meet but myself n Mel enjoyed the day anyhoo, so much so that she wanted to do it again today :cuckoo: 350 miles in 1 day was enough never mind doing it 2 days in a row lol

As said before it was ace to see and meet new people ;) I hope to see you all again at another meet in the near future ;) A huge thanx to the usual bunch ;) Great seein all a you nutters again ;)

Thanks for a great day out, don't think I've laughed so much before. Never thought that on a performance volvo meet we would be doing off roading, who needs a Land Rover. Don't knock it til you've tried it!!lol

Anyway what a spot on bunch of people, weather couldn;t have been better, greattarmac roads and many smiling faces.

Watch out for the farmers next time Fraz!!

No problemo mate, was some experince lol. I must say that i noticed on the corners, that the strut brace i purchased few weeks back at chip tuning made some diffrence.

Think without it, would of either been in Loch Ness or upside doon lol

I was really planing to join the trip however a big puthole stopt me from doing so. I drove true a 4.5 inch deep puthole on Skye and it broke 2 tyres en rims!!! The good news is that I have now got 4 new 18" pegasus rims but I could not join the meet. I will claim the damage from the local council because such a puthole should not be there.

Monday 30th October 2006, 16:38
Gutted mate but happy you got new rims, Good luck with the claim and let us know next time your over ;)
