Evening all....

So what is the optimum operating temperature of the autogearbox....??

Wondering as i am going to fit a cooler to it, though want it to be thermostatically controlled so as not to run too hot or cold etc....

All in preperation of more HP...........

cheers

Adrian.

On a road car don't worry about a thermo just fit a reasonable sized cooler, heat kills em otherwise. WD did a nice job or you could look at the OEM kit. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for the answer, though it raises another question......

If the cooler is working super efficiently, surely the gearbox oil running cold will do as much damage as a box running hot?

Only if your in the artic circle and then you would use a different oil lots of heat as soon as your in D at the lights, not the same as engine temp IMHO
