really sorry to chip in on this, if you up grade the discs from 280 to 302, do you need to change the pads, or is just the carrier upgrade kit suffient for a straight bolt on upgrade.

cheers, sorry.

As you are fitting new discs, new pads would be recommended too, unless the kit is already second hand, as for supply try Salvo I recently upgraded to 302mm discs, wicked brakes now, a whole lot different to the old ones, and all for less than £300.... sorted.....

You will also need a pair of new brake hoses as the original ones are about an inch and a half too short and will kink when fitted to the calipers on the new extended brackets

Caliper carriers are £56.00 or there abouts from marshall volvo but you may get a bit of discount on them

Cheers

If you have an 850 get the 850 versions lol. Same for the V70 :troutslap

All jokes aside, it doesnt matter, if you look at the part numbers they should be the same. If your going for the 302 set up then you will need the 16" wheel version.

Dont forget standard 16" columbus 850 T5 alloys wont clear the callipers if you go for the 302mm upgrade

sorry chaps, im not making myself clear again, what i should have said was..

im getting a 302mm, i have a 850, i have 18" rims, im unsure if the 850 braided hoses are the same lenght as the standard ones (and i need longer ones to avoid a kink in the pipe coz of the 302). So i was wondering if the v70 ones (mk1 70) are longer, thus making the 302 upgrade possible. So, if the 850 braided hoese are the same lenght, then there is no point in getting those.

does that make sence, sorry :troutslap

i think i know what you mean. i got longer braided hoses from hamish at volvotuning when i changed to the 302mm setup
the 280mm hoses are about an inch shorter and when used with the 302mm set up and are a little bit stretched.
i think the longer hoses are the v70 ones but speak to hamish, he will know.

I have noticed some people just unhook the brake hose from the strut when going the 302 route, there isn't a lot of difference in the length, but if you are buying new get the S/V/C70 set,
