You dont say how wet it is, may be just condensation on the air con pipes, then again have you got a geriatric hound that you let loose in your motor:haha:

its wet enuff to feel wet ( as opposed to damp) but not wet enuff that if you press down on it it doesnt puddle

if that makes sense

if its not your pants... have a good look at the seal round the windscreen. An earlier car of mine leaked here and i also ended up with an embarrasing puddle!

on second inspection of the coolant today seems to have dropped a bit but does not seem to have dropped any where near the amount of the water in the carpet the hunt goes on
someone has suggested the o rigs
but think i will have to strip it all out and have a good look

seems to be alot of condensation forming here on the ringed bit

unless there is something in there i dont know about

its under the passenger side below the glove box

i assumed it was just the air channel from the blower fan ????

It could be that your aircon is leaking as i think the aircon pipes enter from the engine bay through the firewall in roughly that area and then connect to the control unit and the blower in there

But i`m not 100% sure as my aircon has yet to be regassed

Cheers

mine has just been regassed and pressure tested

there is no sign of the aircon oil and no hint of refigerant escaping .... although could be a tiny hole i guess

just icy cold water

If it was a leaky AC it wouldn't be wetting the car, the gas would just evaporate, my guess is still codensation, or leaky screen seal, seal is easy to check just run water over the screen and watch that part where the drip is.
While your watching it keep your rubber pants on.

The evaporater housing should have a drain pipe on it somewhere to prevent condensation on the pipework from getting into the car(Thats why you always see water dripping out of the cars underside with the air-con on) Is the pipe detached or blocked ?

not a clue so ill have to have a good look

also noticed the resistor for the fan speeds is not located properly (wonder who did that :mischievo ) water dripping out of there too

so seems to be quite a bit

also had rain today so that may have contributed if it is a leaking seal

so now i dont have a clue lol

how do you fix a leaking screen lol am i in for a new screen ??

I'm fairly sure a screen can be refitted/resealed by window glass people, should be fairly cheap if the price of the glass is not involved.

Tuesday 15th August 2006, 12:08
have you tried gaffa taping all round the edge of the screen to see if the water leak dries up?
