Corsa gearbox problem

Alright all you mechanically minded boffins.

My Girlfriends car was struggling to go into 1st then all of a sudden there was no feel to the gearbox, just flopped around like a porn star without viagra.
Do you think it is just a linkage, clutch or actuall gearbox problem.
I should have mentioned the clutch did not drop to the floor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

bet the gear box has 'popped'. which means the clip or weld has broken, pushing the gears to the left. can you put it into gear without it stalling? or hear anything when in gear?

Yep, it was the ball joint underneath had popped out. Took it to the guys i bought my first T5 from as they are gearbox specialists and they have sorted it. Thanks for replying EvilEdna
