I've owned it for a month, if that..
Reason for sale is that the gearbox is playing up, will work sometimes, wont other.. Would have thought it needs a rebuild :tombstone

Interior is immaculate, the bodywork has a few door dings and bumpers cud do with a coat of paint..

Tyres have plenty of life left in them! The engin is mint, had a new head gasket recently and anything that needed changing, was changed..
The car was VERY quick and very quiet and smooth, only rattle is from the glovebox lid which needs a screw, will do that myself, otherwise the car is a great car!! Sad that it has come to this, but with other commitments, i cannot afford the time or money to repair the gearbox..

Really damn gutted!!!

really dont know what to ask for it, nothing sill or I might have to drop a match inside it! :firedevil

She's a beauty Mark.

What did she cost you a month ago?

You're going to take a massive hit selling with a knackered box - it might be worthwhile getting the box done through Dave850. I know it's expensive but not as expensive as the loss you'll make I'm afraid.

I'd love to make you an offer but what I've got to offer would just be an insult. Have you considered sticking her on eBay from £1 no reserve and letting her find her own level?

Regards

Andy

Doing up to sell I would get a 2nd hand box fitted. Doing up to keep I would get the box reconditioned and see me about an additional tranny cooler.

I would love to spend the £1200 and get a recon box, but simply can't justify it.. Not on that car..
I paid £2.6k for the car from the £3k asking..

Im going to get a 2nd hand box and then probably sellthe car and get another VW or a BMW.. If not, im keeping the car till winter time then it'll prob go...

I am hoping that you will not give out on T5's all together. But I do respect that you will feel a little stung by the experience. I was distraught.

Umm, I do sorta feel I can't trust the car.. I know if I fix the prob, after a while I'll trust it again... A bit like my Golf, I blew one VR6 bottom end due to a conrod bolt failure, I lost all trust but now I totally love them again!

I had the T5 out for 40mins today but everytime it changed to a lower gear my heart jumped because I thought the prob was back, but 40 mins into the drive, it happened, lost all drive again, so going to have one last go at sorting the fluid problem tomorrow, if it doesn't work, going to take it to Volvo or an Auto box specialist/my mechanic and try and diagnose the prob...

To be honest, if Im forced to sell, I dont think I'll buy another, welll, definetly not buying an Auto again, so there goes my plans to buy a 7 series.. Just not sure what I will replace it with, there isn't much else in the same league for the price, so I think I'll have to take a step down and go sensible and buy something I know everything about and get another Golf, but a lesser GTi.. Maybe an Audi A4

Who knows, I really really really don't want to see the back of the Volvo, I do love the thing to bits, fingers crossed this problem isn't as serious as a gearbox failure, which surely it cant be.. I really have got into the car and really want to bring the car back to a class standard, bar the gearbox, the mechanics are mint, needs some new brakes, but thats nothing, its all serviced up, so can spend time and money getting it 100% respectable! :remybussi :rolleyes2 :smlove2: :smlove2:
