Right, simple situation..........

V70 1998 T5 CD Bought 12 months ago for 3K @ 190K

Now done 210K ish.

Ex plod. Obvious signs of engine work and prob new turbo. NO oil usage and goes like stink, Not a cough since I bought her.

Suspension needs lowering, brakes need overhauling and I want more power.

The question is this.

Do I do all the work to this or do I buy a lower milage exaple?

I need the V70 for its load carrying capacity. Its a bit tired inside, but thats fine because so am I!

Thoughts folks? :viking:

You can buy my lowering springs for 95 quid. Genuine volvo ones. ;)

Personally if I was to tune it at all I'd go for the 280 RICA remap. It's less fiddly and less likely to show up faults such as MAF and other bits plus you can run it on ordinary unleaded.

Have you compression-tested the engine? Had it on a dyno at any point to check the fuelling?

I say check it out carefully... then tune it!

If you give it to VT, they will check the car before its remapped anyway, make sure the car will be ok on the new map.. Very thorough .. very good.

If there are any issues, they will pick it up and tell you before its mapped
