i thought the filters for a petrol engine are different compared to a diesel engine because the oil on a diesel is thicker so the filters would be different

Plus an 850 will have the normal/older style filter, im sure a D5 will have the new element style filter.

Just checked 850 petrol = spin on filter
D5 = cartridge filter that sits in a canister

yes they are totally different. the petrol models changed to the cartridge (paper insert) type in 1999, but even so these paper ones are different between petrol and the diesels.
and steve, i could put in a good word for you lol... but it wouldnt matter, we have full staff there right now. you can keep asking though, you never know

well, unless you wanted to up and leave where your living now, then only FRF are within reasonable distance for you really. aberaeron is miles away really, and the next stop would be stratstones in cardiff. god knows where they advertise, i was head hunted lol
