hello,

my car has been fantastic over the 10k miles i've had but i got a very annoying problem.

when i got the car the brake pad's would rattle over slightly rough road. these pads were quite worn so i changed them, ( non oe pads ).
i also fitted a brake fitting kit.
now they rattle really loud all the time, over the smallest bump and it's getting really really annoying.

it's the inside pad on both side's, i can move them with my hand quite easily.
am i missing any shims? or is it purely because they are not genuine pads?

2:

I want to get at the recirc to check the diaphram, the heat shield look's like it could be a pain in the rear, is it?
does the lower half come off on it's own?
would this cause the boost to tail off or just not feel quite as sharp?

well, cheer's guy's

Without checking it seems like the caliper slides may have siezed. The piston may be working one side, but the slides that work in the oppositre direction to clamp up the other side may be stuck......lossen off and see if they move by hand. WD40 could be used or some better grease, but don't get them on the pads...

The recirc valve is on the top of the turbo if you can see the turbo from above you should be able to get access to the three (10mm..?) bolts that hold it in place.... good luck with the heat shield...
