anyone know if the clutches are the same for the 2.3 T5 and 2.3 R?

Gary, I heard that the R is slightly thicker, read it on here somewhere, but not sure.

Which clutch setup do you have Gary? Single mass or dual mass?

If you have the single mass then you should get the 850R or T5R clutch kit. I forget which one is better, would have to do some reading.

If you have the dual mass setup (you have a '99?) then you can use the later S60R clutch/plate, cars with a small shaft need to use a disc for a small shaft and just use the R pressure plate. If you got the big shaft box (S60 and V70N) you can use the R disc as well.

The clutch is fine on my R, just i have a virtually brand new clutch that was in my S70 T5, just wondered if and when the R clutch needs replacing then i could put it to use, unless the auto clutch is different to the manual clutch,

Yeah, they are completely different, you might aswell chuck the clutch on ebay or on here.
