In his own words:
"Fault - intermittant. At around 1500-2000 rpm at light throttle there is
a slight feeling that the engine is missing (although I had it with me
when I left !*) or hunting. Poor pick-up when increasing throttle from
low revs. On the overrun, after a short delay it will sometimes jerk and
then slow more quickly.
No problems at higher revs and greater throttle openings. No smoke
(unless booted hard). Fuel economy good and consistent."

Model V70 2.5D year 2000 mileage 112000. Regularly serviced.

We think it is the MAF. Can you confirm or deny?

*excuse the dad-gags

I am guessing it isnt hunting at tickover.

What is the EGR valve?

My step dad had a problem like this with his bmw, diff car but both run by computers.......... trying disconnecting the battery overnight and connect it in the morning, will reset everything and might fix it. if it doesnt, than nothing is lost except your clock time :)
