Driving through town today, nothing doing, gentle 20mph through a busy section the SRS light came on.... So:

1- Do i take it to a Volvo Dealer and have it looked at/reset?
2- Will it cost ?
3- Or could i just take it too a garage and have them do it?

Yes, if they have the diagnostic (although not necessarily cheaper)

mine did it last year,checked the code and it looked like one of the wires under the driver seat had got bent (got bent from kids toys flying around under the seat, the wires get brittle with age) , straightened it and checked the code again (socket B5 from memory) , it reset and has not given any gip since. So it may be as simple as that.

Mine is a pre OBD11 855 Estate, but I think every 10 years or so, the system is supposed to be checked, as Airbags do have a shelf life, or should I say the deployment devices do.

had it checked today, it was the driver seat coupler.... intermittant fault so they just reset it for nothing.... Swindosn volvo dealer rocks!

Had mine checked, Air bag and main unit fault, reset and light gone out.....for now.
