intermittent speedo problems

Hi

i've got a V70 2.5T classic shape.

it has started to develope an intermittent problem with the speedo. Most of the time it is fine, but for some reason the speedo does not work at all every now and then. I'll be driving along and the speedo needle doesn't move and stays at Zero.

If i stop the car, switch the engine off and back on it starts to work and all in fine until the next time where i have to switch the engine off and back on again.

Anyone have any idea's what is causing this and how to solve it.

Could well be part of the abs unit what year is the car?

Could well be then mate next time try switching off the ignition then switching it on again but sounds like the abs unit to me mate

yer if i switch it off and back on it's all fine again until it stops again

I'll have to see how it goes and if it carries on, looks like a trip down to the volvo place near me to get it replaced.

That looked at the car last time coz the engine light was on, showed afew fault, one being the ETS dash light was missing, but they did mention the ABS module or something and said keep an eye on it. If that needed doing i think they said it'd cost about £80 to change it with a re-conned one
