I was just wondering, what happens if I blank my Re-circ valve without replacing it with a dump valve? will is cause any probs?

The other option/thought is: My mate has a rover 600ti and reckons our turbos are identical, now he has a very loud dump valve which replaces the re-circ valve on his rover where you would normally puit the blanking plate on the T5. Now I want to know is this possible on the T5? On my last T5 i blanked off the re-circ valve and added an extra twin piston dump valve as I know the MAF sensor had something to do with it, can anyone clarify. Basically I want either a nice dump valve or that nice chatter sound, (of which I had both on my Cossie) Any suggestions? :help:

No Rovers use Garret blowers.

You can't fit a BOV direct to the turbo due to its position. The CBV which would be replaced with the BOV faces the back of the Head and is too close to get any replacment BOV to fit thus the need to fit a blanking plate and fit the BOV else where. The Rovers have there turbos and the front of the heads and the Garret configuration has the stock CBV facing out the right hand side which alows the BOV to be fitted directly to the turbo.

Here is a pic of my old Rover with a tower BOV fitted, you can see it just to the left of the air filter.

Ok guys thanks for clearing that up, won't be doing that then. If I do go down the dumper route, can you tell me what the difference between a BOV & a dump valve is, I had a twin Piston Dump valve from forge motorsport on my last T5, But it wasn't as loud as I would have liked. Are BOV's louder? do they have a different sound?

A BOV and a Dump Valve are the same beast just different names.

If you want loud go for the Turbo XS Type R-HFL as did I, its the loudest on the market at 150 db's @ 10 Psi 1 meter away :yikes:

Forge Motorsport in Gloucester do A blanking Plate for our turbos! Got one from them for my last T5, they do a Twin Piston dump valve kit for the T5, Which they supply to Kalmar Union.

It's just the BOV and maybe T piece that I will need.

Am I right in thinking this is everything I need to fit a BOV to an S/V70?

(and obviously the BOV itself)

edit: maybe the picture will help
