EDIT 20/06/06: IMPORTANT UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF THIS FIRST POST

Right everyone!

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/RICARDOBARNYARD/NewPicture1.jpg

TRAX... 3rd September 2006... Silverstone Circuit...
What is if? Only the biggest performance and modified car show in the UK - that's all!! :)

This year, depending on interest, I am looking to get a VPCUK stand at this show - here's your chance to show off your ovlov and take part in one of the best days out you'll have in your pride and joy!

I have been to this show as part of a club in my pre volvo life and as well as being an excellent social occasion for any club, you can (if you wish) run your car on the Grand Prix circuit and to do 0-60 mini-strip type events. The diversity of the club stands is massive from the ubiquitous maxpower generation all the way through to some quite classy and unusual clubs - VPCUK anyone! There are tons of club stands, tons of trade stalls and all day circuit and mini-strip action - what more could you want. (oh - I'm sure there is a beer stall for the non drivers ;) lol). As well as all the attractions its a great 'club' day for the social point of view - a good chance to meet up and have a natter! Its not all about how much polish you use and how big your wheels are - so whether your car is modded/standard/immaculate/grubby/T5/D5/T4/1.9D - everyone is more than welcome - in fact - positively encouraged! 

I will only go ahead if I can get commitment from 10+ members (since confirmed). I need to book this up pretty quick, a) to reserve us some space, and b) to give a preliminary idea of numbers to the organisers. Tickets are only £10 per person for club bookings which includes a car pass for the stand - normal gate price is £20 (under 14s are free either way :) ) so its a bargain too! I (may later) look into a paypal account to make things easier for people. It is likely that track and strip action will be arranged on the day although if there is enough interest I can book it in advance for exclusive use by us...

More can be seen on www.traxshows.co.uk (http://www.traxshows.co.uk) Don't be put off by the lairy cars on the homepage, it really is a very good day out! Anyone been before?

All you need to do for now is get your name down if you want to come! Copy and paste style please. (PS – if this does do ahead then maybe the Newmarket meet can be rescheduled to accommodate :))

Names down so far, keep them coming!....

EDIT 20/06/06:
As we now have 10+ confirmed I will now start collecting the money for the tickets. Please send payment by cheque to me for £10 per ticket/person required - under 14s free. I will endeavour to PM everyone on the list with the name/address for payment, but in case I don't please PM me to remind me!
I have just had an email from the organiser and there is no guarantee of spaces until payment is received, and they will only accept amendments once. Therefore I want to get as many booked quickly as possible and if there are any stragglers, make a final amendent sometime after (space permitting). If we do go with a track booking this will also be made later.

My deadline for payment for what may be your only chance is JULY 7TH 2006.

I need from you, on a piece of paper accompanying your cheque, the following:

Forum Name:
Real Name:
Email address:
Contact Telephone No:
Home address:
Car Registration:
Quantity of Trax 2006 entry tickets required@£10 per ticket:
Total cost of tickets = £
A car pass will automatically accompany every booking, if you are bringing 2 cars between a couple etc let me know.

Oh and please keep an eye on this first post for updates as and when :) I will update the list with who has paid when the payment is in.

Damn right!

I went last year in my astra gsi, all the others were there with the polish, and I was there with my motorway grime! :D Took it out on track which was fantastic!

I camped at the campsite, which meant we got to go the 'back' way into Silverstone so no ques (sp?) in the morning.

Was a bloody good day, the kind of car show I like as its not totally static!

So balls to it, i'm gonna come along! :D

i would have loved to have gone to Trax this year, but i will be on a plane to barbados that day. probably the best show of the year as it appeals to all types of car enthusiasts, unlike most other shows which try to appeal to just one type of modder or another.

Just so you can have a nosey ^

It does look a bit 'chav', and there was a fair share of them last year, but there were also cars like Ford's RS200, Pug 405 Mi16 (have I got that right?!) and the track action was brilliant to watch - amateurs like myself going balls-out, and professional 'drifters' driving sideways etc...

When I went with another club last year, they had to get the final numbers in around 1-2 months before the date of the event

I reckon you're convincable :) If you reckon you will probably come down anyway then why not book up early, save a tenner, and get a stand pass too - if you cant make it on the day then you loose a tenner, worst case scenario!

Wobbly, great stuff, cheers for the support - will give me chance to steal pinch your new PC off you on the day lol

http://www.traxshows.co.uk/tracktime.html

Click above for more info, I think its £25 for about 15mins, it says you can book a session just for your club, but we would need 50 cars!

They werent as strict as they made out last year, they let me have my windows down a bit and I had two tents and a whole load of other crap in the boot!
The marshall just opened the boot and said "There's nowt hard underneath that lot is there?", to which I replied "Nope" :D

And they said "strictly no overtaking on corners", but they didnt enforce that either :B_steerin

Wayne, yes I can't see us getting the neccessary numbers for a dedicated session, but if several trackers are interested - (i think they are!) it may be worth me coordinating the track booking also to get everyone in the same session. If this aspect appeals then we'll hold off on the booking of track time and I can book it separately at a later date. It is unlikely that track time will book up quick so there is no need for the urgency :)

Obviously if people do want to book their own track time then theyre welcome to but would be grateful if you would let me know either way :)

I will start another thread for that if its a go-er

JO5EPH
Tuesday 4th July 2006, 21:18
I'm 100% definite for track time, so it would be good if there were other swedish machines on at the same time! :D

Just a small point to people booking track time, they might give you an early time of just after 9am, which could be risky if you're travelling down on the day, as there's usually massive ques to get in :(

I'll be camping though, so get to go in the back door  ;)

I would be looking to try to get a mid day ish slot tho there is no provision as such for specifying a prefered time. All people who are coming with the club will need to be in before 9am anyway - thats the rules i'm affraid, and yes the ques can be pretty big - I'll maybe sort out an early RV point sometime prior to the event.

The safest, most effective car polisher available.

You're too kind mate :) how is the PC going? to be honest I'm a little nervous as to the thickness of my paint after the recent t-cutting. I noticed its worn through to the undercoat on the corner of a door (tiny tiny area) and don't know whether its down to me or whether its historic!

Wobbly Dave
Wednesday 26th July 2006, 23:52
probably historic - tcut isnt that strong.

I'd need an assistant to get a whole estate done in the time. We can do some less obvious areas to start if you'd prefer.

Always go with the polishing mantra which is use the least aggressive to get the job done. OR you could just use fillers like Megs DC #1
