just taken the gearbox out of my t5 found a sensor on the back of the diff casing.
wondering what it is for? as the new box doesnt have a place for it

Could it be the speed sensor? How old is your car? After 95 they used the ABS sensor for that function. I don't think the newer gearbox housing has a position for the speed sensor.

Mines a 96(N) and it has a speed sensor on the top of the gearbox

Found out the new box won't go on anyway, looks like I need an older box.
