Air con probs

Hi all, its air con season again & mine's giving me greif, it works fine & blows lovely & cold but as soon as you floor the fast pedal the compressor cuts out & dosn't come back on, the only way to get it going again is to turn off the engine & restart, i understand the T5 has a feature that cuts the compressor under full throttle to prevent power loss but surley its surposed to come back on, ive tried driving the T5 without using full throttle but its like trying to suck a fruit pastel (impossible) Anyone had this problem?

Exact opposite but might be the same problem! lol

It works for 20 mins then cuts out. Only way I can get it to come back on for a minute is to floor it. Bloody annoying as its got enough gas in the system.

Specialist said it needed a new compressor for more than I am prepared to spend on a car I use once a week. Read on the dark side that the compressor clutch might need adjusting? Anyone shed any light on that?

Anyone recommend an aircon specialist who knows his stuff?

the guy who regassed my air con informed me that the clutch cannot be reshimmed, a new compressor is needed.
mine has started playing about and makes some odd noises when first turned on.:confused:
