Nightmare.

Locked the car earlier with key fob and everything ok.

Go back to it 2 hrs later and its unlocked. Happened a couple of weeks ago as well and I thought I'd forgot to lock it.

Now key fob won't lock it but the key in the door will but that means no alarm.

I would think batteries in key fob but they were replaced a couple of weeks ago when it happened the first time and all weekend it has worked fine. No reduction in range and no need for multiple attempts to unlock etc.

Guess I'm sleeping in the car then.

Any suggestions welcome. Will try batteries in morning but not hopeful.

Apparently its a common fault on early p2 60's and 70's and the cure is a new door lock. I came across it while browsing on VOC, it's maybe worth you having a look there, it's under the 60 series posts.

door locks were a pretty common fault from the start of the 850's and carried on through the original S/V70 range, then onto the P2 v70's. they cost around £100 for a lock, plus fitting.

volvo finally seem to have them sorted now, but its taken them a long time
