hi lads an lasses,

i know this will have been asked a million times before but im fitting an atmospheric dv to a '97 s70 t5, and want to know if i can leave the original recirc in place instead of a blanking plate?

meaning if i disconnect it will it stay open or will it stay shut?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

cheers james

You can leave it in place if you want, The only thing is the car will then dump in two places, this means that the atmospheric DV will be quieter than if the recirc was blanked off, Obviously you want the noise, thats the only reason for having an atmospheric, but you dont want it too loud then leave the recirc, then blank it off and then decide for yourself ;)

it was late on last night when i got the atmos fitted, i just left the recirc in place and used the vac pipe off it to work the new one, seems to work ok, still makes boost ok, dumps with a bit of a whistle on full boost but if i boot it then change at 2.5k theres no dump just a chirrup as the boost passes back through the turbo, at low speed and boost this wont be too much stain on the turbo will it?
