hi all, spesh VT guys.

had loads of running probs lately, lambda light on, hunting for revs ect ect.
have changed...
o2 sensor,
MAF,
IAC,
evap valve n cannister,
plugs,
leads,
new vac run from thermostat to turbo intake,
nothing has helped, altho each has altered probs slightly.

for the hell of it i changed fuel/ignition ecu today and its running superb,
steady revs, boost restored, the scolded cat kick down is back ect ect.

edit... lamda light went out straight away also.

only prob is she drops revs under braking, dropping to 600 or so
(but not struggling).

question is.... am i going to damage anything running an ecu from a p1 on a p2 ?

p2 ecu is from a 8/1/96 N... p01275004 , c001 , 1t26s0000 , t95317198.
replaced it with a...

p1 ecu is from a 31/8/94M...p01271748 , cp01 , 1t26s3456 , t94183071.

regards wayne.

Bet you had a grin a mile wide when, finally this adjustment got it back to something like normal. Hope everything remains intact and she is running 100% again ASAP.

VT will post something soon. I'm sure they will have the knowledge you require.

I know a few people have done it the other way round and run a p2 ecu on a p1 with no ill effects.

You can run an 850 4.3 ecu in a 4.4 car. However, in your case remember that the problem is still there and fitting this ECU is more of a "band aid" rather than a fix for the problem.

Adam.

taken on board Adam and thank you.
cheers BB

the T5 im in now was involved in a head-butting compitition with a roundabout, and lost.

all these probs were not there before the accident, and arose as soon as i put it back on the road.

is it poss that the accident damaged the original ECU ?

im booked in for a fault code read n reset next week.
