Very Rare I would say.

He's asking quite a lot for an 9 year old car but for that mileage - it is certainly worth asking if he'd take £6500

Nice but you would just want to use it on the odd sunday if sunny for 20 miles or so , and wrap it up in cotton wool the rest of the time!
A future concours classic no doubt

Wrap it up in cotton wool? I've just returned my 95 850R (practically perfect in every way) in from the road with a trail of chavs eating my dust. It is an awesome machine and to put it away as a future classic would be a crime against all things fun... :blowingup

It took me ages to find and you can have a look in my garage as I took pictures today (at last). See: www.volvot5.co.uk/forums/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=430

It's just so beautiful...

I knew a guy once that used to never drive his car in the rain,Always polishing it,and never used it to it's full potential,All because he wanted to enter it a concours condition at the F@r* shows,I get enjoyment out of using my car not by being ablle to eat your dinner out of it.Ok so it was clean but come on,
As for that car £6500 for 66k motor can't be bad,not even run in.

My car was almost identical with 20k more miles on the clock and the seller also wanted £6950.
He was advised to ask this much by members of the VOC. Advice from this site helped me to get the price down and - although I get that feeling that I may have over paid from time to time - I am delighted that I've got such a good motor for the money.
Absolutely chuffed to bits...

Lovely car Huskman , I will be looking out for you!

I know what you are saying about cotton wool ,I looked long and hard for my first T5 a 1 owner car with 101k fsh now currently in the ownership of Mrs Mopp!
Im very good at putting the miles on and have done almost 15k in the last 8 months.
But because T5s are so good at mile munching Im conviced 850Rs will become really rare with low miles in years to come as I have no doubts there will be pleanty of T5s around but few with under 100k and even fewer low mile Rs

I dont see why in another 10-15 years why a mint orignal low miles 850 R Estate with say 50-90k on clock could be worth £10k-15k!

Yes it would be a crime to hide one away , but not if you have another T5 in everyday use, or you have Loads of money, and a lock up!

Why thank you very much. I will re-post pictures when I've polished her up. The car has been nicknamed Clifford after the big red dog of the children's programme of the same name... kids. :rolling_e

You should see me around before too long - I cannot be dragged from the car at the moment and I am running all the errands my wife requires. Even numerous tedious trips to the garden centre. I had good fun with an M3 this afternoon on the way out of Nottingham. It just didn't shake me and the look the on the guys faces was priceless. What was this red brick doing alongside him? I left it alone once I received teh customary admiring look up and down as they wondered what was under the bonnet. :D

Of course, only downside is the battery (separate thread) but it has been well behaved today. :santa:

BTW Lance tahnks for all your tips and advice - I'll pop to Lenton next week.
