dreadly

I have noticed some 850/855 series cars have a boost guage on the instrument panel, why didn't volvo put this on the S60 series, it would be bloody usefull.
Has anybody managed to retro-fit a nice looking boost guage into a T5 and made it look almost OEM.
Still saving for the RICA.....:sorry:

i have got a v70 p2,which is basically the same interior layout, and i was thinking of fitting a boost gauge in the right hand airvent near the drivers window. to be honest, i dont use it often, and it isnt far off where a pod would be situated. It would be prettey discrete there.

I have a subaru boost gauge fitted on my S60.
It is not beautifull but it is the least ugly one I could find anyway.

Dreadly, have you got space next to your cup holder on the centre console ?
I've seen a gauge retrofitted there and it looked smart !
S60T5, that gauge looks smart ! matches the dials really well.

I have to give credits to someone else though. The first to have this gauge was Johann (www.swededemon.com).

Because they're not really needed. The boost varies depending on loads of factors, and I guess having a gauge will always make you wonder if it's "boosting correctly". Remember that the ME7 cars can shut the throttle if you overboost, so again they don't require human input in order to keep boost under control if there is a fault.

I recognise the content in that photo - I've got one very similar!
I know it's not part of this thread but has anyone got any ideas what I could put in the redundant gap under the head unit?
Cheers

have you got a gauge too cue ball?? I reckon you could put a din plate and fit 3 gauges, boost, voltmeter, and oil temp? just a thought!

Don,
No - sorry for the confusion.
I was going to put a mobile charger/holder where you have the gauge but that gaping hole gets on my wick.
How are the lights coming on - are the led's working as well as you expected? Quite fancy doing that one too - did it take long/cost much (if you don't mind me asking)?
Was hoping you'd reply to my thread re bits sticking out from under the drivers side wheel arch as you've had the whole of the front off yours LOL!
Cheers

Not be safer to have the boost gauge in your line of sight ? ... i wanna be looking straight ahead when im hitting full boost .

i can see it fine, each to there own i suppose. I would rather it situated where it is, than have it mounted in some other place that completely ruins the interior looks of the car.

Very true Don, nothing worse than a huge gauge dominating the view ...... although i do like where "volvos60t5" has his mounted ... it looks like a nice wee dinky gauge and being black it helps it blend in that bit better .. you know its there but its not screaming and shouting at you.

Just a thought Guys. Have a look at Rspec.

Personally I would go for boost gauge, volt meter and a combined oil temp/pressure gauges.
Don't forget that the oil light on the dash ia just an "idiot" light. When that comes on, generally damage has already occured.
