Good day VPCUK

I have some strange boost issues in my stock S70R

Sometimes boost reaches a very scary 18psi, wich I think is wrong, but most of the times it hits 12psi at the first WOT and inmediately fades to a constant 7psi for the rest of the day, no matter RPMs

I thought I had a bad BCS or Wastegate actuator , did some searching and found the following statement at another forum:

"A bad Boost Control Selenoid will not boost normally; run a regular vacuum/boost line right from the vacuum tree right to the wastegate, cap the hose leaving the BCS to wastegate, if the boost is the same, then your BCS is shot, if the boost is different, then something else is wrong"

After doing this I had the same boost numbers, just a constant 7psi
No overboosting issues at all.

Now what do you think?

BCS is shot? bad wastegate actuator?

PS: all hoses are new

Need to check the pressure in the actuator - should be 3.5/4 psi - if you dont have the right tools (i.e. accurate pump) to set the length of the wastegate rod then get a garage to do it.

Are you running an MBC or bleed valve?

Thanks for answereing

The car is stock, no MBC or Bleed Valve

I Tried to do that, but the vacuum hand pump, couldnt hold any pressure.

Well I feel you need to address that issue first.
