Hi,

put a few feelers out regarding selling my car recently, tried to send pics for one of the guys to post for me but had no joy so if anyone wants pics, email me. Didn't really want to sell it as I love the car but....needs must

97P Silver,Auto, 83k, graphite grey wheels, immaculate condition. FVSH. The normal 'R' extras (everything!). Decided to leave VDO Dayton Sat Nav in car but will replace kenwood DVD player and multichange DVD for original volvo 3disc changer/CD Player. It has a bluetooth car kit fitted and front laser diffusers. Had to have a new MAF sensor fitted Monday (£278!!!)

The car hasn't been thrashed since I have had it (Would cost me my job if caught!) and drives perfectly.

It is up for sale at a bargain price of £5995.

Feel free to call me on 07866 506051 or email me. I am in Northants.

cheers

The cars now open to offers as I must sell it. If the offers are low I will not include the Sat Nav!!

FYI, when I originally bought the car I posted on this site as the V5 said it was a T5. I contacted Volvo and did some checks and the car was built as an S70R. It was an error and does happen!! I have the documentation from Volvo to prove it.

I want the car to go to a genuine fan so sensible offers please....

cheers

Very nice indeed - even I'd be tempted. 18T bigger turbo?

Nope I must be strong and stick with the one I have. LOL

Dave,

I have no Idea what the 18T bigger Turbo is. Is that what they put on the 'R'?

Is nobody intersted in this car? :nut: Somebody twist my arm. Going through a seperation and have to get a cheaper car, so someone make an offer b4 I part-X it and get a ridiculous trade-in for it :pirate:

Is this genuinely an R? No disrespect but I think you are cheating yourself on the price a bit if it is!! (I got an absolute bargain) but your car and mine are worth circa £6500-£8000 and with your mileage being significantly low for the year and the eq. you offered incl. in the sale initially its worth IMHO around £7000 min!!!

Only thing that would put me off is the comment you made about it being designated an S70 T5 on the V5 - why haven't you had this corrected? DVLA would change it if you requested it and can prove it was manufactured as an R? Might be worth you disclosing the Reg to allow potential buyers to HPI & verify it's an R thereby & through Volvo themselves. Also post pictures of interior showing usual Volvo interior upgrades in support.

On a postive note peeps, if this is an R, although auto - its still a very rare car and an absolute bargain!!!

The log book says "S70 T5 CD". When I bought the car the current owner was up front about it and had docs from Volvo. I was a little doubtful so I contacted volvo UK head office in Volvo. They confirmed chasis/engine no. etc and provided me with a letter confirming it was an R and said there must have been an error when it was first registered. I originally posted about this on THIS website when I was first looking at the car and a number of people said they had similar problems with their logbook. I never thought to change it as I was happy that the car was an 'R' and did not think I would be selling it. I have had the car thoroughly checked ou (I am a Police Officer) just in case and its 100%.

I have also had it pointed out that the front bumper is a T5 bumper. The original owner is not aware of this and had not changed it. I can only presume one of the following:

1. This bumper was fitted when built (doubtful)
2.The front bumper was replaced by a previous owner after it was damaged, either by speedhump, curb etc. (most likely as no sign of any body damage or recorded on HPI)

I have been told that the grill is 'R' but that its is all I know. I paid £7250 for it and thought that was a good buy but I need to sell it.

If anyone wants to check the reg is P57 HBW. DVLA will confirm it is registered as a T5 CD. Volvo will confirm it was built as an 'R' Series. Any questions feel free to email or call me on 07866 560501

cheers

On a seperate note: DaveS70R, thanks for your honest advice :hail:

With regard to the 18T turbo. I was under the inpression that the Auto and the manual shared the same turbo. The manual was slightly quicker off the mark but the 'R' shared the same BHP. How little I know :stupid:

PS : If anyone wants to offer more for it I won't be offended :hilarious

No worries mate.

If Volvo confirm it's an R, it does have the Aluminium interior trim around centre console, glove box & gear lever, but it's minus the Dolby centre speaker on the dash - oh, and the front bumper as already pointed out...

However it DOES have the Blue dials - which only the R's had... unless these are just options that the first owner requested on top of the T5 CD spec... Also don't know if it was an R as new, but the dolby speaker & front bumper were deleted as options on order?

most odd...... :shifty:

Umm I did try to resist sorry ;-) but I'm sure checking the vin number and a vadis DVD will sort this out (let me know and I'll check). As far as the Dolby centre speaker, I thought that was optional read Top Gear V70R review (http://www.topgear.com/jsp/individualRoadTest.jsp?carType=new&mCode=E9&rCode=C6&mDesc=Volvo&rDesc=V70&roadTestNumber=02.html) (and the 8 speaker remark) and for blue dials ? could some one explain more ? I haven't noticed any on mine (but there again mines a V70 not s70 should that make any difference :-) )

The saga continues..............

The dolby prologic IS an optional extra. The standard stereo is a 3 disc autochanger. It has got loads of speakers and sounds fantastic.

As I have said the vehicle has been checked, VIN, Engine no. etc and I am happy it is 100% (R from new) or I would not have bought the car. The last thing I needed was driving a dodgy car in my job :rolling_e

It does have 'R' mats aswell!! But I can not explain the front number....Sorry.

cheers

Eddie

Oh, blue dials are standard on the 'R' arn't they, although if you didn't know you would not see they were THAT different

The car is still for sale. I had a member who e-mailed me and asked for pics of the car inside and out. I replied saying the pics were on the site and he did not reply. I sent another mail asking if he got the mail and if he was still interested to let me know. I received no reply. If you are the member perhaps you could have the courtesy of replying or posting here. I presume that for some reason you did not get my mails.

On a seperate note I have found and purchased my sensible, boring diesel I needed so I am open to sensible offers on the 'R'. Next week I shall be putting it on the autotrader.

cheers
